Montgomery After Script

You’re invited to Montgomery After Script an A.R.T. — Any Random Tuesday (or Thursday), intentionally curated, intimate acting + production workshop hosted by Collaborative Community Learning Labs.

This isn’t your average class. It’s a creative playground for adults who want to:

  • Explore deeper self-expression
  • Build confidence, presence, and communication skills
  • Act, create, and collaborate in a fun, supportive space

Led by experienced industry professionals, each session is designed to help you use your voice, own your presence, and connect with others through the art of storytelling.

Expect hands-on activities, creative exercises, and plenty of laughs along the way.
Come ready to play. Leave more confident than you arrived.

Grab your spot and bring your curiosity and your favorite costume prop. Let’s make some art.

Too often, the arts are separated from conversations about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, when in reality they are deeply connected. Theatre arts requires analysis, structure, sequencing, timing, spatial awareness, interpretation, design, and technical coordination. Acting calls on students and adults alike to use reading, comprehension, voice, movement, empathy, and critical thinking. Production introduces concepts tied to planning, systems, technical execution, design, sound, lighting, and the organized movement of many parts into one cohesive result. In that way, theatre naturally lives within a S.T.E.A.M. framework, where artistic expression and innovation work hand in hand.

This VIP experience has grown from a student-centered workshop model being developed for grades 6–8, where young people are introduced to acting and production through an arts-integrated, S.T.E.A.M.-connected approach. In that student space, Co.L.Labs is helping frame theatre arts as a gateway to literacy, storytelling, teamwork, performance confidence, and broader career awareness. For the adult version, that same concept is elevated into an invitation-only experience for leaders who have expressed excitement about the possibilities of this work and a desire to engage it firsthand.

This workshop will be led by experienced facilitators from the worlds of acting, theater, music, and production, including Renee Harrison, actress, producer, and founder of Black Girls Do Theater, Jupiter DuBois, singer, songwriter, musician, and producer; and Jason Chandler, filmmaker, photographer, and producer. Together with the acting and production coaching team, they will guide guests through an experience that highlights both the artistry and the strategy behind strong performance and production.
